What is Code2College and why should I join?

We often see students that choose a STEM major when entering college, decide to switch to non-STEM or drop out of college altogether.

Our belief is that through our approach to Education, Exposure and Experience, we can fully prepare our students for fulfilling, technical careers in college and beyond.

The Code2College program model has 4 main components

1: After-school Coding Sessions

Program participants attend after-school coding instruction sessions twice weekly throughout the school year. Code2College has developed a full-stack web app curriculum that incorporates front-end, back-end and database technologies.

2: Technical Portfolio Development

Technical projects not only allow students to further develop their newly acquired skills and put them into practice, but also provides a demonstration of content mastery to both prospective colleges and employers.

3: Monthly Professional Development Workshops

Each month, program participants visit a corporate partner office and meet with STEM industry professionals, Code2College staff, and volunteers to develop a variety of professional skills including resume help and interview prep. Students also participate in case competitions and STEM projects.

4: Summer Internship/Consultancy

The culmination of the Code2College program year is the paid, project-based internship or consultancy during the summer following the program. Students work either on-site with an internship host or off-site on a consultancy project for a business client.
